Zimbabwe cricketers Sean Williams and Craig Ervine were excluded from the single test against Bangladesh from Harare on Wednesday after close contact with family members positive for the coronavirus forced them to self-quarantine.

“They had to self-isolate after the two came into contact with family members who tested positive for Covid. According to national health protocols, they had to self-isolate.”
Brendan Taylor, who is likely to lead the team, said the duo’s absence will give the newcomers a chance to prove themselves.
“We are missing a few experienced players, but we have some exciting young players coming up,” said Taylor.
“This is a great opportunity for them to see where they are at. It is an exciting time for Zimbabwe cricket.” Four uncapped players, including opener Takudzwanashe Kaitano, fast pitcher Tanaka Chivanga and hitters Joylord Gumbie and Dion Myers were named to the squad last week.
