The second leg of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to start in September in the United Arab Emirates. All eyes will be on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as it is a crucial year for the Yellow franchise in many ways. The mega auction is set to take place in 2022 and it would be interesting to know if the team retains the services of their talismanic captain MS Dhoni for the next three years.

Although the CEO of CSK has dismissed rumors that this IPL season will be Dhoni’s last, the speculation never seems to end. Suresh Raina, who is affectionately known as “Chinna Thala” by the people of Chennai, wants CSK to win this year’s IPL under the leadership of his good friend and brother Dhoni. These two players share a great camaraderie and have always put down roots on several occasions.

The connection between Dhoni and Raina was visible when the two announced their retirement from international cricket to India the same day last year. Apart from that, the duo have been part of several memorable India victories together and have helped the team reach new heights.

Raina wants to add another feather to Dhoni’s cap by winning the fourth IPL title for CSK. The team are currently second in the points count and will be eager to keep up the same momentum when the second leg of the 2021 IPL resumes in the United Arab Emirates. CSK have made an incredible comeback this year, compared to last year, when they failed to make the playoffs for the first time in the 2020 edition.

Suresh Raina is optimistic about CSK winning another title

“I hope when we go to Dubai we have a side and we can win it again for him. I think the way we were playing this year we had extra confidence from his captain and he was enjoying each other’s success, ”Raina told Star Sports.

Raina also spoke about how Dhoni has given all of his players the freedom to express themselves and do their best for their team. “He gave freedom to all the players and with Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo and Ruturaj by his side, we had the momentum. Hopefully we can do it again this year for MS, ”added Raina.
