Vivo IPL 2021 Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match number 27 has been recorded as the most watched mid-season game in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. According to BARC data, the match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi recorded 11.2 billion minutes, the highest since the start of the IPL.
The meeting between the two is also the most-watched IPL game of the fourteenth season.
The encounter turned into a last-ball thriller as Kieron Pollard took his Mumbai Indians to a four-wicket victory over CSK. The Mumbai Indians (MI) were reduced to 81/3 in 9 overs when Kieron Pollard entered the rectangle to rescue. Pollard hit CSK bowlers all over the park and amassed 87 balls on just 34 balls using six fours and eight sixes.
Earlier in the CSK rounds, Moeen Ali forged a good partnership with Faf du Plessis after a first wicket by Ruturaj Gaikwad. The English all-rounder scored 58 balls out of 36 balls with five fours and as many sixes while Du Plessis hit 50 balls out of just 28 balls using two fours and four sixes.
Ambati Rayudu coming to bat at number 5, picked up where Du Plessis and Moeen Ali left off. In no time at all, the game that looked to wrap around 180 was increased to 218 points as Rayudu scored a quick shot 72 of just 27 with the help of 4 fours and seven sixes.
The Mumbai Indians (MI) won the match by four wickets and Kieron Pollard was deemed “the man of the match” for his brilliant exploits with bat and ball.
