Virat Kohli’s RCB cleans up KKR in 38 point thriller

Vivo IPL 2021 RCB vs KKR: Virat Kohli’s RCB cleans up KKR in a 38-race high scoring thriller.

Vivo IPL 2021: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continued their winning streak by recording their third victory in the ongoing 2021 Vivo IPL by beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 38 points in Game 10. MA Chidambaram for the first time this year produced a high scoring thriller as Virat and Co. smashed 204 races in 20 overs.

Chasing the gigantic total, KKR never really took off and lost the game by 38 points. KKR was reduced to 166 for eight in 20 assists, all-rounder Andre Russell scored 31 points while skipper Eoin Morgan could handle 29.

Versatile kiwifruit Kyle Jamieson picked three wickets for RCB, giving 41 points on four occasions while spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and speedster Harshal Patel scalped two apiece. Washington Sundar also has one under his belt.

RCB managed to score 204 points despite two early breakthroughs. The skipper Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar were sent cheaply at the end of the match by Varun Chakravarthy.

Forerunners Devdutt Padikkal and Glenn Maxwell got RCB back on track after two first wickets.

Southpaw Padikkal was fired by Prasidh Krishna after scoring 25 out of 28 deliveries.

Glenn Maxwell slammed a brilliant 78 out of 49 deliveries after some good partnerships with Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers. However, the Australian all-rounder was sacked by Harbhajan Singh in the 17th round of RCB.

Although all these days the surface in Chennai kept the big hitters from playing big shorts and kept them from finishing high up games but AB de Villiers was in a different mood tonight.

The South African cricketer scored a quick 76 shot of 36 deliveries using nine limits and three towering sixes. He carried RCB to a solid total at the end of 20 overs.

For his scintillating shot in no time, AB Villiers was awarded the “Player of the match” award.

With three consecutive wins, RCB leads the Vivo IPL 2021 points table with 6 points.
