Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh for his team’s slow over-fare against Chennai Super Kings in an IPL match on Sunday.
CSK scored 191 for four, then capped RCB to 122 for nine, enjoying the full spectacle of Ravindra Jadeja.
“Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli was fined after his team maintained a slow pass rate during their Indian Premier League match against the Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 25” , said a press release.
“As this was his team’s first offense of the season under the IPL code of conduct for minimum breaches above the rate, Mr Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh” , he added.
Sunday’s loss was the first of the season for RCB.

Penalty for slow overtaking rate:
For the first offense, the captain will be fined 12 Lakhs INR.
If the team repeats the offense for the second time, the captain will be fined 24 INR Lakhs. Each team member will be fined INR 6 lakhs or 25% of the match fee, whichever is less.
If the offense is repeated for the third time, the captain will be fined INR 30 Lakhs and be banned for an IPL match. Each team member will be fined INR 12 Lakhs or 50% of the match fee, whichever is less.
