The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a very busy time at the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. After releasing up to 10 players before IPL 2021, the franchise has selected 8 players. One of the highlights of the whole event was the selection of RCBs Glenn maxwell for a whopping amount of INR 14.25 crore.
Meanwhile, New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson has passed Maxwell to become Bangalore’s most expensive outfit purchase in the 2021 IPL auction. RCB has included New Zealand’s Jamieson in their squad by spending an amount massive INR 15 crore.
Besides Jamieson and Maxwell, RCB has successfully acquired the services of Rajat Patidar, Sachin Baby, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Dan Christian, KS Bharat, Suyash Prabhudessai. While Christian earned 4.8 crore INR, Azharuddeen, Sachin, Rajat, KS and Suyash were chosen for 20 lakh each.
Skipper Virat Kohli seemed impressed with the purchases made by the team management as in a video posted on RCB’s official Twitter handle he expressed his satisfaction with making the right choices on the auction table and strengthening the ‘team. Virat hopes they can move in the right direction and land their young daughter IPL title this year.

“Very happy with our purchases and the results we obtained at auction. We got what we wanted for the balance and strength of our team. I had a very good season last year. I really believe the new additions are going to take us in the right direction and hopefully a few more steps than last year, ”Kohli said in the video.

IPL 2020 was conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at three locations namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah behind closed doors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
