South African batting sensation and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) AB de Villiers put in an incredible performance for his team in the 10e Indian Premier League (IPL) game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Chennai.
Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to strike first while making a change to their game XI, bringing in Rajat Patidar for Dan Christian. Eoin Morgan’s KKR remained unchanged.
Varun Chakravarthy got some early breakthroughs from KKR as Virat Kohli was brilliantly caught by Rahul Tripathi for 5 points, while he beat Rajat Patidar in 1 race with excellent bad. This left RCB in a tough spot, but Glenn Maxwell joined Devdutt Padikkal and the duo added 85 points for the 3.rd wicket to put KKR in the way for a big score.
But they needed something special from Maxwell and AB de Villiers to really mark their authority on the sleeves and that is exactly what they got. While Padikkal fell for 25 runs, Maxwell went on to make 78 runs on just 49 balls. He slammed 8 fours and 3 sixes in his stroke and also added 53 points in just 6 overs.

However, Glenn Maxwell fell in the 17e on nabbed by Harbhajan Singh off Pat Cummins and that left De Villiers causing much needed carnage and he did.
RCB has scored 70 points in the last 5 overs and the South African superman has scored 55 points on his own. He slammed 9 fours and 3 sixes in the innings. He crushed Harbhajan Singh for two sixes in the 19e plus, then slammed 3 fours and a six on Andre Russell in the last on too, helping RCB cross the 200-point mark and finish the innings on 204/4.
His hit rate was 223.52, while Kyle Jamieson also contributed 11 points with a four and a six.
The Twitterverse praised AB de Villiers for their whirlwind move that put RCB in a hugely advantageous position. Some have even commented that the South African team are expected to tell them about their participation in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup which will be played in India later this year.
