Once prominent Indian middle order batsman Suresh Raina looks to return to the national squad for the upcoming t20 world cups in 2020 and 2021. Southpaw Raina is recovering from a knee injury and after surgery the knee he feels good and eyeing for fourth place in the Indian cricket team.
Suresh Raina represented India in 78 Twenty20s in which he scored 1605 including a hundred. He is the first Indian cricketer to score a century in T20I.
“Basically my left knee was cleaned. I expect to come back to play in November. I can be # 4 for India. I knocked in that slot before and delivered. I look forward to an opportunity with two T20 World Cups to come, ”Raina told Sportstar.
Raina also pointed out Rishabh Pant’s batting issues and said he should take on singles at the right time. It should not be confused between hitting the border or taking a single. Someone from the team management needs to talk to him to give him some mental relaxation that MS Dhoni used to do with players under such circumstances.
Australia will host the 2020 T20 World Cup, while the next 2021 World Cup will take place in India.
