Sunrisers Hyderabad stressed by Kane Williamson injury ahead of IPL

IPL 2021: The Sunrisers Hyderabad were stressed by Kane Williamson’s injury ahead of the IPL 2021.

IPL 2021: New Zealand cricketer confirmed on Tuesday that skipper Kane Williamson suffered an elbow injury and that the cricketer will not take part in the next three ODI Series matches against Bangladesh. Kane Williamson, to be precise, suffered a small tear in his left elbow tendon and will be out of cricket for a while to recover from the injury.

New Zealand coach Garry Stead in conversation with ESPNcricinfo said Williamson would need at least three weeks to recover from his injury. Stead also assured that they will speak constantly with the skipper and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) franchise.

“It’s likely that in about three weeks, Kane will be almost ready to go, which is the time frame around the start of the IPL. We will continue to speak with him and Sunrisers Hyderabad as well and just make sure he’s 100% before he does it again, ”Stead told ESPNcricinfo.

“We just want Kane to be free from all of this irritation. His physical form is paramount for New Zealand cricket with the action to come in mind. A few weeks of rest will put him back on the track.

New Zealand cricket medical director Dayle Shackel has also said the injury requires specific treatment and we cannot leave it on God.

“Kane has dealt with his elbow injury to varying degrees this summer and unfortunately it hasn’t improved. He obviously has a high volume of training and playing in all three formats, which inhibited his ability to recover. We believe he now needs a period of rest and rehabilitation to heal his injury, ”Shackel said in an official statement from the NZC.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be tense after hearing this news. However, New Zealand Cricket has confirmed that Kane Williamson will be fit at the start of the Indian T20 League.

IPL 2021 kicks off on April 09 with the Mumbai Indians taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. Sunrisers Hyderabad will kick off their 2021 IPL campaign on April 11, 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai.
