The SunRisers Hyderabad have incorporated former head coach Tom Moody as cricket manager, the franchise announced on Tuesday. Tom Moody is a popular figure in the franchise thanks to his long association with the Hyderabad-based team as a coach.
SunRisers Hyderabad roped Tom Moody to coach in 2012 and his first stint with the team was in IPL 2013. In his very first season, he guided the team to the playoffs. Under the former Australian cricketer, SunRisers Hyderabad made it to the playoffs four more times and also won their first and so far only title in 2016.
He ended his association as a franchise coach after the 2019 IPL. In his final year, too, he guided the team to the playoffs. The franchise had hired World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss to replace Tom Moody last year.

SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020:
In Trevor Bayliss’ first season as a coach, the SunRisers Hyderabad reached the playoffs. Their journey ended with a loss to the Delhi Capitals in the second qualifying match. SRH were the last team to move off the points table, after losses in their first two games.
They struggled for consistency for most of the 2020 IPL and were hit with injuries as well. They lost the services of their pacing spear Bhuvneshwar Kumar due to injury while Mitchell Marsh also suffered the same fate. Kane Williamson also missed a few games due to injury. And even in the playoffs, they missed the services of the fit Wriddhiman Saha. But they did very well at the end of the tournament to make it to the playoffs.
