Captain Mominul Haque finished a century alongside newcomer Najmul Hossain Shanto as their 242-year partnership took Bangladesh to 474 for 4 against Sri Lanka after two days of the first test.

Shanto, who started the day on his first century of testing at 126, was out for 163 shortly after lunch to end their third wicket. Mominul hit his 11th century testing in the morning session and was also out before tea at the only other wicket to drop all day.

Mushfiqur Rahim was on 43 and Liton Das on 25 when the game ended 96 minutes earlier due to poor light.
