Ashish Nehra said pacer Mohammed Siraj has even more skills than his senior Indian colleague Jasprit Bumrah. Siraj already has more variations than Bumrah and if he can maintain his physical form and increase his awareness of the game, Nehra said “the sky is the limit” for him.
“A few years ago we were talking about the fact that he used to pick up 5-6 wickets every game for India A with the red ball… (now he) is a very good pitcher of all formats. It doesn’t lack skills, it has all kinds of variations. In fact, I would say skill-wise he’s even ahead of Bumrah, if you’re talking about variations, ”Nehra said in a video on Cricbuzz.
“He’s got a different, slower one, he’s not lacking in speed, he can move the new ball. He needs to keep his physical shape and sharpen his mind. If he can do these two things well, the sky is the limit, ”added Nehra.

Siraj, 27, made his India debut in the Australia Test series earlier this year, doing a great job as a strike pitcher in the absence of regular Indian bowlers Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav. Siraj hasn’t looked back since then, continuing his beautiful form.
In IPL 2021, Siraj featured as the punching rhythm thrower for RCB, sharing new ball duties alongside Kyle Jamieson. He is the first bowler to reach 50 point balls for the season.
