Vivo IPL 2021: Simon Katich congratulates Glenn Maxwell for showing his maturity for RCB in Vivo IPL 2021.
Vivo IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Simon Katich praised Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell after producing two straight winning shots.
Katich believes Maxwell has proven himself as a versatile player for the franchise as well as being the best with the bat in the first two games.
The Australian all-rounder was acquired by RCB for INR 14.25 crore after a long bidding war against the Chennai Super Kings at the 2021 IPL auction in February.
Maxwell in the last IPL season in the UAE failed to hit a single ball over the limit rope for six and had often failed to score points for the Kings XI Punjab wins. He was released from the Punjab squad ahead of the 2021 IPL auction due to his poor form in the Indan Premier League.
“He showed a lot of maturity, especially today (against SRH on Wednesday) when the wickets were falling around him… He summed up the conditions very well, and took the game in depth, that’s all to its honor for his experience of summing up and then running at the end when we needed quick runs, ”Katich said.
“He works in close collaboration with Virat for the internships in the field. He makes sure the guys are in the right places at the right time.
Katich praised his boys for defending a low total against SRH last night.
“The game was tense and we finally crossed the line. The spirit of the players was, I think, fantastic in the last two games regardless of the outcome, ”said Simon Katich.
