After being excluded from the ongoing ODI series against England, Shreyas Iyer was excluded from the 2021 IPL on Thursday from next month. Iyer dislocated his left shoulder in the opening ODI on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the eighth inning for England when Iyer dove to a disc hit by Jonny Bairstow on the Shardul Thakur pacemaker. The 26-year-old was in tremendous pain as he left the pitch holding his shoulder.
On Tuesday, the BCCI said: “Shreyas Iyer subluxed (partially dislocated) his left shoulder in the 8th during commissioning. He was taken away for further testing. “
“You know what they say, the bigger the backhand, the stronger the comeback. I’ll be back soon, ”Iyer tweeted. “I read your messages and was overwhelmed by all the outpouring of love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you. “
