Despite the loss of the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar series, Australian opener David Warner says his daughter is happy because she received a jersey from his idol Virat Kohli.
The understaffed India came back from behind to beat Australia 2-1 in their own lair. But Warner shared a photo of his four-year-old daughter Indi on Saturday wearing Kohli’s jersey and wrote, “I know we lost the series but we have a very happy daughter here !! Thank you Virat Kohli for your game jersey, Indi loves it. Besides dad and Aaron Finch, she adores VK.
Warner’s wife Candice previously revealed their middle child is a fan of Virat Kohli and enjoys playing Indian cricket captain over an Aussie player whenever the Warners play garden cricket at home.
David and Candice are the proud parents of three daughters – Ivy-Mae (6), Indi-Rae (4) and Isla Rose (1). Speaking to Triple M Sydney radio station, Candice said: “We play a little cricket in the backyard. Funny thing is my daughters, sometimes they want to be a dad, sometimes they want to be Finchy (Aaron Finch) but my middle child, she wants to be Virat Kohli. And I’m not even kidding, his favorite player is Virat Kohli. She is the rebel.
India are now set to face England in a four-game test series. The full England squad are expected to start training from February 2 before the series opener against India, from February 5 in Chapauk.
