Shakib’s five made him Bangladesh’s top wicket-taker in ODI, overtaking couture pitcher and former captain Mashrafe Mortaza. Wicket keeper Regis Chakabva made 54 for Zimbabwe, but there was hardly any further resistance as Shakib’s left arm spin won four of the last five wickets.
Zimbabwe’s Timycen Maruma did not strike after injuring his leg while on the pitch.
Shakib’s third five-for in ODI took him to 274 career wickets. He is already Bangladesh’s top teller in Tests and Twenty20s.
The teams will play two more of a day and three T20s. Bangladesh won the only test of the tour, also in Harare, by 220 races.
