IPL 2021: Shakib Al Hasan may not be available for IPL 2021, BCB to reconsider his NOC for IPL 2021.
IPL 2021: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Monday that the body had reconsidered Shakib Al Hasan’s Certificate of No Objection (NOC) as the cricketer accused the board of “ twisting ” its decision.
The all-round star from Bangladesh was awarded the title of NOC by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier for competing in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League ahead of his national duties.
Shakib said on Sunday that the BCB had “ twisted ” its call to prefer the IPL ahead of the test run against Sri Lanka.
BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan after meeting with BCB chairman Nazmul Hassan said the board will review Shakib’s NOC in the coming days.
“Shakib said that I had not read his letter or that I might have misunderstood his letter,” Akram Khan said.
“In the following days, we will take this into consideration. If he wants to play the Test Series against Sri Lanka, he will play. The board will take the last call after watching him’s full interview, ”Khan said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.com.
The chairman of BCB cricket operations has made it clear that the cricketer has chosen to be part of the Indian Premier League.
“Shakib wrote in the letter that he wanted to play the IPL instead of the Test Series in Sri Lanka,” he said.
With Bangladesh out of the ICC Test World Championship race, it will be important for us to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in India later this year. He said playing for KKR at IPL 2021 will help him prepare for the next IPL event in India.
The fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to start from 09 April and the ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to start between October and November.
