Vivo IPL 2021 RR vs KKR: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets.

Vivo IPL 2021: Inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) managed to register their second victory of the tournament last night by beating two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets in a low-scoring match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

A courageous performance from Chirs Morris, followed by a sensitive blow from Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, took Rajasthan Royals (RR) to eighth place in the current Indian T20 League points table.

Chasing a below-par total at Wankhede Stadium, the Rajasthan Royals lost the opening wickets to Jos Buttler (5 of 7) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (22 of 17) in the power play.

Skipper Sanju Samson kept the ticking and sided over the line for the second win with seven deliveries to spare.

Samson scored undefeated 42 of 41 while Shivam Dube (22 of 18) and David Miller (24 * of 23) played their little cameos in the chase.

Forced to beat first, the misery of the Kolkata Knight RIders (KKR) never really got them off the ground.

Openers Nitish Rana (22 of 25) and Shubman Gill (11 of 19) were sent cheap into the power play.

Rahul Tripathi (36 out of 26) tried to turn the tide, but pressure from the low rating rate also took its toll.

Wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik scored 25 of 24 in the end to sort of hit a respectable total at Wankhede, but he was sacked by Chris Morris.

In the total quota of 20 overs, KKR managed to score 133 points by losing 9 wickets.

All-rounder Chris Morris scalped the most, four wickets and was awarded Man of the Match for his sublime spectacle.

Pacers Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman and Jayadev Unadkat also chose wickets one to one each.
