Jonny Bairstow was England’s only star in the recent first ODI against India, scoring 94 points in a quick shot time, establishing a 135-point partnership with Jason Roy (46). However, when he and Roy fell, the England team imploded in their 317-point pursuit and lost the game by 66 points to go 0-1 in the ODI three-way series.

It will be a great opportunity to play on different pitches during IPL, says Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow has been shortlisted by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the 2021 IPL auction and will play for the franchise during the 2021 IPL which starts April 9. Sunrisers Hyderabad will open its campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai on April 11.

“It will be a great opportunity to play on different grounds where we could potentially play the T20 World Cup. Also to see how the different teams will play bowling under these conditions. Because, naturally with the size of the pitches and also the wickets, the way the attacks go to defend the totals and the batsmen is going to set them, so it will be an interesting competition.Bairstow said at a virtual press conference Wednesday.

Obviously, playing here was a new ground, it was a lot of learning but the games we have in IPL will be in Chennai. However, acclimatization in India, whether to conditions or weather or in general, will hopefully help. But nothing can be taken for guaranteed, we know the quality of the competition and the quality of the opposition ”. Bairstow said he was talking about SRH’s first game in Chennai, a place where spin reigns supreme.

IPL 2021 will take place in six cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the qualifiers and the final, which will be played on May 30.
