IPL 2021 mini-auctions: no quarantine for franchise owners to participate in IPL 2021 auctions.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: The 2021 IPL Player Auction is fast approaching and the entire franchise needs to prepare to participate. Player auctions will take place on February 18 in Chennai after the first two test matches against England.

While most of the franchise will go half-hearted as they have retained all the key players on their side, but Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore will have to chase after players due to the high value of the stock market. Punjab has 52.3 crore in their kitty while Bangalore has 35.7 crore.

No quarantine for owners but two mandatory negative Covid reports:

The BCCI has published the guidelines for participating in the IPL 2021 mini-auctions. Franchise owners may attend the event and no quarantine rules will apply to them. However, owners will need to carry the covid-19 reports.

Homeowners will be cleared once they show the two negative covid-19 reports only. Owners must pass a covid test before 72 hours of the 2021 IPL auction (February 18) and a test will be performed on arrival in Chennai.

BCCI has asked the entire franchise not to include more than 13 members. Only 13 members of a particular franchise will be allowed to participate in the event.

“Please note that team members participating in the Chennai player auction will need to do an RT-PCR test 72 hours prior to the auction date and submit the negative report. In addition, a test will be carried out in Chennai on the site of the members participating in the auction, details of which will be communicated in due course ”. Hemang Amin, CEO of BCCI and COO of IPL, wrote to the franchises according to the website.

Also, the player trading window will be closed on February 04 and so far three players have been traded. The Rajasthan Royals traded Robin Uthappa to the Chennai Super Kings in an all-cash deal. The Royal Challenger Bangalore acquired two players (Daniel Sams and Harshel Patel) from the Delhi Capitals in an all-cash deal.
