Vivo IPL 2021: Cricketer Nicholas Pooran and Rajasthan Royals (RR) Jaydev Unadkat have pledged part of their 2021 IPL salary for the fight against Covid-19 in India.
Due to an unprecedented increase in cases, India’s healthcare system is suffering a severe crisis of oxygen concentrators and essential drugs. The country in the past 24 hours has reported 3.86 lakh of fresh COVID cases.
Pooran urged all his fans and Indians to get vaccinated as soon as possible once they get the chance.
“If you can get the vaccine please I will also do my part which is to continue to pray for India, but not only that I would also like to donate part of my IPL salary for this crisis”, a Pooran said in the video posted to Twitter.
Hours after Pooran’s video, Rajasthan Royals host Jaydev Unadkat said he would help fight the dreaded virus by donating 10% of his IPL salary.
The Gujarat cricketer who was shortlisted in the 2020 IPL by RR for a huge INR 3 Crores has informed all his fans of his contribution through his tweet.
“I contribute 10% of my IPL salary to providing essential medical resources to people in need. My family will make sure he reaches the right places. Jai Hind !, ”Unadkat tweeted.
Previously, its Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise donated 7.5 crore INR (1 million USD) to fight and purchase essential drugs and oxygen concentrators in India.
Apart from this, the capitals of Delhi (DC) have also informed that they will donate INR 1.5 crore for relief.
“ANNOUNCED, Delhi Capitals and its Patrons, @JSWFoundation & GMR Varalakshmi Foundation are offering financial support in the amount of 1.5 Cr INR to NGOs based in the NCR, @Hemkunt_Fdn and @UdayFoundation,” Delhi Capitals wrote (DC).
