Vivo IPL 2021: Former Sri Lankan spinner and current Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) mentor and bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan was hospitalized in Chennai after suffering cardiac arrest. According to reports, the former cricketer had undergone angioplasty in Chennai.
ESPNcricinfo reported that the non-spinner champion “has a stent installed to unblock an artery, and will join Sunrisers Hyderabad when released.”
He is the first box office taker in the international format with 1347 scalps to his credit.
The spinner has participated in 133 tests, 350 ODIs and 12 T20Is for his Sri Lanka national team in which he has scalped a staggering 800 wickets at Red Ball cricket, 534 wickets at One Day International and 13 wickets at T20I.
Muralitharan was with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team for the ongoing fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has lost all three of its matches in Chennai. At first Warner and Co. lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 10 runs, then to Royal Challengers Bangalore and a few nights ago to Mumbai Indians.
SRH is scheduled to play its fourth game against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) of KL Rahul. SRH is at the bottom of the Vivo IPL 2021 points table with three consecutive losses.
