Mumbai Indians were the most talked about team, while Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore was the most mentioned player on Facebook during this year’s edition of the IPL.
The social media giant, in a statement, said IPL 2020 is a big conversation starter, recording more than 10 million mentions on Facebook led by avid fans around the world.
About 74% of people talking about IPL were in the 18-34 age group, he added.
The Mumbai Indians top the list of most mentioned teams, followed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Chennai Super Kings.
Kohli led the count of the most mentioned players, followed by MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings) and Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians).
The main regions that led the conversations were Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and Bihar, the statement said.
