MS Dhoni won’t release many players, says Gautam Gambhir

IPL 2021: MS Dhoni will not release many players, says Gautam Gambhir.

IPL 2021 news and updates: Former Indian left-hander Gautam Gambhir believes MS Dhoni will not consider releasing many players in the 2021 IPL mini-auctions. MS Dhoni-led CSK had a disappointing IPL season last time around. They broke their excellent qualifying record for the playoffs each time in IPL 2020.

With the many CSK players lying on the wrong side of the 1930s, Chennai Super King is in desperate need of a little squad overhaul.

Speaking of the chances of MS Dhoni releasing players, Gautam Gambhir said:“I think MS Dhoni won’t let go of a lot of players in the 2021 IPL mini-auctions. Clearly this is not a full-fledged auction and before releasing players, the franchise will need to take into account the availability of the best player in the auction pool.

“I accept that most CSK players are getting older and desperate for someone better. But for that, they will look at what is in the auction table. I don’t think there will be a lot of purchases ”, Gambhir added.

“But that’s the quality of MS Dhoni, even though they had players in their thirties, but their team is still one of the best performing teams. It only focuses on that year and it has been IPL history since 2008.

However, according to the sources, Chennai Super Kings is likely to release some of the players who went to the flop. Kedar Jhadav is one of the cricketers who could lose his IPL contract worth 7.8 crore. Jadhav had a sloppy season last time around and there has been a lot of criticism around his age and performance.

But it’s the truth to increase the value of the stock market and to have new faces on the side, CSK will have to release some of the players. From now on, CSK will be the squad that will play for them for at least 3-4 years. A strong Indian core will be needed.

CSK cricketers who could lose their IPL contract before IPL 2021:

Kedar Jadhav – 7.8 Cr

Imran Tahir – 1 Cr

Piyush Chawla – 6.75 Cr

Harbhajan Singh – 2 Cr

Murali Vijay – 2 Cr

Dwayne Bravo – 6.4 Cr (subject to physical form)

Josh Hazlewood 2.0 Cr

Karn Sharma 5 Cr
