Mohammad Nabi shines in thrilling Melbourne Renegades win over Adelaide Strikers

Melbourne Renegades finally broke his losing streak after defeating Adelaide Strikers by six counters at Adelaide Oval on Friday.

Mohammad Nabi was the culmination of the Renegades’ epic victory in Game 33 of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-21.

Nabi beat 71 unbeaten from 41 deliveries and helped his team pursue the tough target of 178 in a game that went over. Nabi slammed nine fours and two sixes during his scintillating blow.

Apart from the Afghan star, Jake Fraser-McGurk also showed good signs with the bat and played a crucial 29 (not come out) with two maxes. Fraser-McGurk formed an undefeated and winning 68-innings partnership with Nabi for the fifth wicket.

Salt, Carey guides strikers to 177/7

Earlier, opening of the Strikers Philip salt has given positive signals regarding his form after scoring a much-needed half-century for his team. The right-handed batsman smashed 59 of 42 laced deliveries with three fours and as many sixes.

Alternate Captain Alex carey shone with the willow thanks to his 42 vital balls on 25 balls using six limits including three maximums to get the team total at 177/7. Matt Ranshaw also made a valuable contribution with 30 of the 23 deliveries, including five borders.

For the renegades, Peter Hatzoglou was the most successful bowler after picking up three wickets for 43 in his four-overs quota. Outside of Hatzoglou, Jack Prestwidge claimed two scalps so Imad Wasim and Kane richardson packed one window each.
