IPL 2021: Michael Clarke challenges posh Aaron Finch in the IPL 2021 auction.

IPL 2021: Former Australian World Cup-winning captain Michael Clarke questions Aaron FInch’s tobacco at the recent IPL 2021 auction. Speaking in Sky Sports’ Big Sports Breakfast, Clarke said the Australian selectors were wrong or that all IPL franchises.

Finch who is a limited Australian skipper was released by Royal Challenger Bangalore ahead of the 2021 IPL auction. The opener was not auctioned off as no franchise has shown interest.

Finch will continue to lead Australia in the limited series in all five T20I games against New Zealand despite poor form in Big Bash League (BBL) Season 10.

Are Australian selectors wrong?

Clarke said either the Australian selectors are wrong in keeping Aaron Finch as a limited skipper or every IPL franchise as they let the seasoned player go without a single offer.

“Are the Australian selectors wrong in seeing Aaron Finch as our Twenty20 captain or are all IPL franchises wrong?” he was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.

“In no sport on the planet can you captain Australia and miss a tournament with a team truck. Don’t tell me Aaron Finch isn’t good enough to be a part of one of those IPL teams, ”Clarke added.

“I can’t believe Finchy hasn’t been arrested. Even for Finchy, it must hurt as Australia’s T20 captain. I think he is still, definitely at the top of the order, one of the best in the world, ”he added.

Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, Shaun Marsh, Jason Behrendorff, Billy Stanlake, Matthew Wade and James Faulkner were among the unsold players from Australia with the exception of Aaron Finch.
