Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja among the runs on the last day of the warm-up match | Cricket News

CHESTER-LE-STREET (DURHAM): Mayank Agarwal and Hanuma Vihari spent precious time in the middle as Ravindra Jadeja scored her second fifty of the match on the final day of India’s warm-up match against County XI here Thursday.
After beating County XI for 220 on Matchday 2, Agarwal (47 of 81) and Cheteshwar Pujara (38 of 58) opened India’s second round on Matchday 3.
The duo shared an 87-race position that ended when Agarwal charged the wicket to spinner Jack Carson to be caught midway through his Indian teammate Washington Sundar.
Washington and point guard Avesh Khan, both expected to return home with injury, played for County XI in India’s only warm-up match ahead of the first test which begins on August 4.
Like Agarwal, Pujara also had the opportunity to score big to boost his confidence ahead of the first test. However, he fell into the trap set by Carson and gave one directly to the leg slip.
Jadeja (51 of 77) and Vihari (43 not of 105) then shared an 84-point stand before the left-hander retired. Jadeja had scored 75 in the first innings.
The game did not have the same intensity as in the first two days, with the game heading for a draw.
Much to the opposition’s surprise, India said shortly after Jadeja finished her 50s with 33 overs to go.
County XI beat for 15.5 overs, scoring 31 without a wicket loss before the players shake hands.
Earlier in the game, KL Rahul scored a sublime half-century to make a statement ahead of all five tries while Umesh Yadav looked good on the ball.
Jasprit Bumrah, who was not of color in the final of the World Trial Championship, finished with only one wicket in the game, while Mohammad Siraj pocketed a few. Skipper Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane missed the first class match due to small issues.
