IPL 2021: KKR appoints Nathan Leamon of England as strategic consultant.
Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: Ahead of the long-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Kolkata Knight Riders onboarded England white ball analyst Nathan Leamon as strategic consultant for IPL 2021. Leamon will now be involved in all events. Upcoming auction strategies and plans for the 2-time champion side.
After signing as a strategic consultant for KKR, Leamon will now take time off from England and the Whales Cricket Board for the duration of IPL 2021.
Nathan Leamon has been associated with the ECB White Ball team since 2009 and has worked closely with KKR skipper Eoin Morgan. His two-month partnership with Morgan during IPL 2021 could impact KKR’s bottom line.
Leamon’s role in the Indian Premier League will also benefit the ECB to learn more about Indian conditions and strategies for the upcoming ICC World T20 tournament to be held in India.
In 2020, KKR finished fifth in the points table with an equal number of wins (7) and losses (7). KKR saw a midway transfer from the skipper when Dinesh Karthik stepped down and eventually Eoin Morgan was named team leader.
KKR’s new strategic consultant also worked with Multan Suntans (PSL franchise).
The 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is scheduled for February 18 in Chennai. The BCCI also said that the IPL will start from April 11 and end somewhere in the first week of June.
After the full release of readers, KKR looks strong across all departments. The franchise has decided not to release too many players keeping in mind the behavior of small-scale auctions in 2021.
KKR may choose to restructure the team when a full-fledged auction takes place in 2022.
The Kolkata Knight Riders have a purse value of INR 10.75 crore to buy some players at IPL 2021 auction.
