Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake praised Indian captain Virat Kohli for not offering an apology after his team lost the first test against England in Chennai.
“What I really like about Team India is that Virat Kohli doesn’t find any excuse. That’s what I really love about his harbor master’s office, he took responsibility for everything, ”Blake said in a video uploaded to his social media handles.
“He said the bowlers didn’t find the right spots and the beaters weren’t as consistent. He said “we have to go back to the drawing board and come back”. And that’s what I like about Virat Kohli and his captaincy, ”he added.

Blake, an avid cricketer, said he was delighted to see how the Indian team reacts after losing the first test. “The cricket test is absolutely the best. The second test should be interesting, India lost 1-0 to Australia, they are 1-0 at home now. The second Test, I can’t wait to be there.
The 31-year-old two-time Olympic gold medalist was also impressed by young opener Shubman Gill and flamboyant wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, both of whom scored half centuries in the Test Series opener.
“And also, what stood out to me was Shubman Gill, he’s a wonderful drummer. Of course, the Rishabh pants are excellent. Not every time he goes to do a show but he is excellent for the game of Test cricket. This is why I love Test cricket, it tests you mentally. (Cheteshwar) Pujara in Australia showed this wonderful fight and that’s what I love to see, ”he added.
Blake also praised veteran England bowler James Anderson, who captured five wickets in the test, which included the dismissals of Gill and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane within three balls in the second inning.
“Woah! What a wonderful test between England and India. I have to say that Joe Root played well, the England team played well. Jimmy Anderson as usual … They say you get better with age, that’s just a number. And Jimmy keeps showing it. Well done Jimmy.
