Jason Roy stars in Perth Scorchers’ dominant win over Hobart Hurricanes

In the 37th Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-21 game, Perth Scorchers have conquered Hobart hurricanes by nine counters at Optus Stadium on Tuesday.

It was the Scorchers’ fifth consecutive victory. The triumph led the team led by Ashton Turner to third place in the team standings.

Chasing a paltry goal of 140, Scorchers completely dominated and chased the total in 16.2 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Jason roy and Liam Livingstone took the Hurricanes bowlers to the cleaners and smashed them all around the floor. The duo put together a mind-boggling 123-race partnership to get the opening wicket to side with an easy win.

Livingstone smashed 54 out of 39 balls with eight limits, including four huge sixes, before Scott Boland sent him back in the 15th plus. On the other hand, Roy went undefeated on 74 of 52 deliveries to take his team to the finish line.

Previously, the Hurricanes could only manage to score 139/5 on the scoreboard, thanks to the crucial opening stroke D Arcy runs, who slammed 54 out of 47 laced balls with seven limits.

Outside of court, David’s team made a valuable contribution in the order with a vital inning of 23 balls and 31 points.

For the Scorchers, Aaron Hardie picked up two wickets for 36 in his quota of 4 overs. Jhye Richardson (1/23), Jason Behrendorff (1/21), Fawad Ahmed (1/24) packed one window each.

Scorchers next game is against Sydney sixers at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Saturday January 16. Hurricanes will also play their next game at the same location against Sydney Thunder Monday (January 18).
