Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone propelled the Scorchers to a 9-wicket victory over the Hurricanes.
Roy’s scoop on Scott Boland has caught the maximum number of eyeballs.
Perth Scorchers sparkling shape continued in the Big Bash League (BBL) as they demolished the Hobart Hurricanes through 9 wickets at Optus Stadium on Tuesday.
The all-English duo of Jason roy and Liam Livingstone at the top of the order derided the target of 140 tracks by adding 123 tracks for the window opening.
In particular, Roy was explosive with the bat, crushing an undefeated 74 in a chic “Player of the Game” shot that was laced with seven fours and three sixes.
Livingstone scored his first half-century of the season, a 39-ball 54 to be the perfect foil for his opening partner.
After choosing to beat first, Hurricanes’ D’Arcy Short (54) and Tim David (31 not released) tried to get them started, but a superb bowling performance throughout Scorchers’ innings meant the visitors could only score 139/5 on the board.
Roy’s innovative photo
In the 12th of the Scorchers’ innings, Roy won a Scott Boland delivery from offside to deep back for maximum.
The batsman seemed to ignore the defender’s presence near the border and, as a result, shouted ‘Oh no’ shortly after hitting the ball.
“Oh no!” 🤭 Jason Roy might not have seen his slender leg deep down… but still put it above his head!
