IPL player auction scheduled for February 18, 2021 in Chennai

If you are an avid Indian Premier League (IPL) fan, there is some breaking news waiting for you. It has been confirmed that the much anticipated IPL auction is scheduled to take place on February 18, 2021. The venue has also been decided and will be held in Chennai City.

Earlier this month, all IPL teams published the list of players they selected ahead of the 14th edition of the IPL. While the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team released 10 players ahead of the auction, the Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) was more cautious, releasing only 5 players before the auction.

And, the update comes from the official Indian Premier League Twitter handle. The handle added that fans can set their callbacks for upcoming auctions and also asked fans how excited they are as well.

Some big names released before the auction

This year’s IPL auctions would be extremely exciting. Several big names were released ahead of the auction, and it would be interesting to see if these big players attract high bids from franchises. The tastes of Steve smith, Glenn Maxwell, Sheldon Cottrell, James Neesham, Chris Morris and Aaron Finch have all been released by their respective franchises.

As for what’s left in the purse, Kings XI Punjab’s side has the massive INR 53.2 Crores left, and they have 9 slots to fill. On the other hand, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team only have 10.75 INR Crores left to fill 3 places in their roster. When it comes to the most slots to fill, the Royal Challengers Bangalore side has up to 13 slots left.

The side led by Virat Kohli has 35.7 Crores INR to splash on the players in the next auction. Yes, so don’t forget to set your reminders because the IPL auctions are only three weeks away.
