Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals has appointed Pravin Amre as the team’s assistant coach for the next two seasons.
A former Indian international, Amre previously served as the franchise’s chief talent scout between 2014 and 2019, and heading into the coming season, he will join the existing Delhi Capitals coaching staff.
“I am grateful to the Delhi Capitals leadership for welcoming me. The team having reached their very first IPL final in 2020, it is certainly an exciting time to be back. I look forward to working again. with Ricky (Ponting)., and all the players, ”Amre said.

Capitals CEO Dhiraj Malhotra said: “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Pravin Amre to the Delhi Capitals side. Our team is a team with an Indian core, and this thought process applies also to our coaching staff Few coaches know the domestic cricket scene in India as thoroughly as Amre.
“He was instrumental in bringing Shreyas (Iyer), Rishabh (Pant) and Prithvi (Shaw) into our franchise. And his experience will once again be extremely valuable to us. We are delighted to have him at edge.”
Amre, 52 – who has appeared in 11 tests and 37 ODIs for India – has coached Mumbai to three Ranji Trophy titles and has also worked as a personal trainer with several Indian internationals including Ajinkya Rahane.
