The Delhi Capitals of the Indian Premier League selected Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma and Anrich Nortje for the 2021 edition, which is scheduled to take place between April and June, on Wednesday.

The side, however, released Keemo Paul, Sandeep Lamichhane, Alex Carey, Mohit Sharma, and Tushar Deshpande.

The Delhi-led Shreyas-Iyers had an unforgettable season in the previous edition. After collecting 16 points from 14 matches in the league stage, the team finished second. However, the Delhi-based franchise failed to clinch their IPL maid title as they lost an eventual champion to the Mumbai Indians in Qualifying 1 as well as the final.
