IPL 2021 postponed: Struck by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 was postponed indefinitely on Tuesday. Two days later, new reports show some players returning home, while some, like Virat Kohli, are also joining the fight against Covid-19.
The tournament kicked off on April 9 and went smoothly for 29 games. On Monday, Chennai Super Kings bowling coach L Balaji, along with Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakravarthy scored positive results. Hyderabad wicket goalkeeper-beater Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, as did Delhi Capitals veteran spinner Amit Mishra. On Wednesday, some players started returning home even as some foreign players continued to stay in the country.
