The Rajasthan Royals managed a surprise at the Indian Premier League auction by chaining young Saurashtra stimulator Chetan Sakariya. This decision paid off as the young gun took the opportunity, scalping seven wickets and won hearts with his consistency.
Former Sri Lanka captain and Rajasthan Royals cricket manager Kumar Sangakkara believes the young Sakariya has been a revelation. “He was an eye opener, his attitude, his ability to handle pressure, and of course, his talent,” Sangakkara said during a webinar hosted by the franchise on Thursday.
Sangakkara also congratulated the other young people on the team. “We had Anuj (Rawat) and Yash (Yashasvi Jaiswal) – the two youngsters who have been in the franchise for a long, long time. And I was very impressed with all three.

“They actually had a reasonable time in the middle. Unfortunately the game Anuj arrived in he didn’t have a chance to hit but he was exceptional with his energy and skills on the pitch,” added Sangakkara.
The former Lankan captain also praised Riyan Parag. “Because we Riyan Parag are a very, very special player. I think he has a huge amount to contribute not only to the Royals but also to Indian cricket in the future, very special talents that need care, care and development. ”

The team’s England rookie Jos Buttler was impressed with captain Sanju Samson, who replaced Steve Smith. “It was a great learning experience for him. And I think as the tournament went on, halfway there he was really growing in the role, looking to put together better, more consistent performances towards the end of the season as a team, ” Buttler said.
“I really enjoyed playing under Sanju’s captain. I don’t think it changed him at all as a person. He’s a pretty free-spirited guy, very relaxed and he tried to make it clear that to the team and that’s how he I wanted us to play as a team. It’s really important as a leader to be authentic, and I think Sanju is really that, ”added Buttler.
