Chennai Super Kings (CSK) mainstay Suresh Raina is hoping the team can take home the 2021 IPL Trophy and dedicate the victory to captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni when the rest of the season begins in the United Arab Emirates later this year.
“I think the way we were playing this year… we had extra confidence from his captain and he appreciated the other’s success. He gave freedom to all the players and had Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Well done, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis on the side, we had the momentum.
“I hope when we go to Dubai we can do it again for MS,” Raina said on Star sports‘Connected Cricket watch.

The 34-year-old drummer also opened up about his relationship with the former Indian captain.
“We have played a lot of matches for India as well as for CSK. He played almost 200 matches for India and for CSK. I learned a lot from him, and he’s like a big brother to me. . We won a lot of trophies together and also lost a lot of finals, but I think the belief, the respect we have for each other is immense. And that’s what everyone loves about our bond. Said Raina, who followed Dhoni into retirement last year.
The second half of the tournament will see CSK aim for a fourth title, starting in second place with 10 points [P7, W5, L2].
“When playing against PAK, do your best”
Raina also weighed in on feelings surrounding a clash between India and Pakistan after the teams were placed in the same group for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.
“When you play against Pakistan, you make sure you give your best. You must return it to your team. You have to work hard on your intention, your planning and everything, ”Raina said while adding that India’s victory over her big rival at the 2011 World Cup was her favorite memory.
