Former KKR player Tom Banton set to retire from IPL 2021

IPL 2021: former KKR player Tom Banton should retire from IPL 2021.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021: According to recent reports, former KKR player Tom Banton plans to focus more on his domestic cricket to take a break from England’s red ball squad. The top-notch batsman is expected to withdraw from the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of the mini-auctions.

The 22-year-old cricketer warmed up the bench in the previous IPL season and only got two appearances in the cash-rich league. The English cricketer wants to focus more on his techniques and gameplay so that he can perform well in the English national circuit and enter the England test team.

“Every cricketer around the world wants to play as much cricket as he can and so do I. I would like to be in the ground and not warm up the bench. I did it the last time ” Said Tom Banton.

“Growing up as a kid, I loved watching the Indian Premier League (IPL) competition. But right now I’m at that point where I want to play more cricket and not warm up the bench.

“The last year has taught me a lot, obviously all of these tournaments are great, but a lot of them have been sidelined and don’t really do much. I miss beating and playing cricket if I’m being honest, “ he added.

Playing test cricket for England is my dream: Tom Banton

English cricketer Tom Banton in IPL 2020 has scored 18 points from the two matches he has won. Banton also finds his name in the list of players released by KKR.

“All of these tournaments are good but my goal since childhood has been to play red ball cricket. I will surely go for that and play cricket for Somerset and keep learning. If that way I could have a chance to play for the England test team, it would be a dream come true for me.

“Time will decide, I haven’t decided yet. I will try to contact a few people and I will take the step thereafter ”. Banton concluded.
