BCCI official statement
VIVO IPL 2021 postponed
The Indian Premier League Board of Directors (IPL GC) and the Cricket Control Council of India (BCCI), in an emergency meeting, unanimously decided to postpone the IPL season 2021, with immediate effect.
The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of players, support staff and other participants involved in the organization of the IPL. This decision was made with the safety, health and well-being of all stakeholders in mind.
These are tough times, especially in India and while we have tried to bring some positivity and joy, it is imperative that the tournament is now put on hold and everyone returns to their families and loved ones in these hard times.
The BCCI will do everything in its power to ensure the safe and secure passage of all participants in the IPL 2021.
The BCCI would like to thank all the health workers, state associations, actors, support staff, franchisees, sponsors, partners and all service providers who did their best to organize IPL 2021 even in these extremely difficult times.
