Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the prodigious former drummer Sachin Tendulkar, will participate in his first IPL auction in 2021, setting its base price at INR 20 lakhs. Arjun Tendulkar could however be a massive name in the cricket fraternity; his statistics so far do not suggest that he will attract many offers. As for A List cricket, he has an average of 33.50 and an unimpressive save rate of 9.57.
Arjun, a left-arm speedster, competed in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, his first senior national tournament. And he failed to achieve impressive performance, further reducing his chances of securing an IPL deal. The 21-year-old also took part in a few youth tests where his save rate was 2.95 and his average was 45.66. Arjun also had no success with willow, managing 3 and 14 races in List A and Youth tests respectively.
Will Arjun Tendulkar find a bid in the 2021 IPL auction?
Arjun Tendulkar could be a very promising prospect for the future; however, it is far from a finished product. Tendulkar’s limited experience and a less than impressive outing so far in senior level games could make it difficult for him to secure an IPL deal. If the 21-year-old is to manage a deal with a franchise, he has to perform extremely well in fully seizing the chances of leaving his competition behind.
