Arjun Tendulkar signs up for IPL auction | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Arjun, the son of Indian batter legend Sachin Tendulkar, has registered for the 2021 IPL player auction, which will take place in Chennai on February 18.
Arjun signed up for the auction at a base price of INR 20 lakh, ESPNcricinfo reported.
Last month, Arjun made his debut for the Mumbai senior squad against Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. During the match, he had chosen a wicket and conceded 34 points from the three overs he played. Haryana won the match by eight wickets.
In his second game for Mumbai, Arjun came back with the numbers 1/33 against Puducherry, who won the game by six wickets.
IPL player registration closed on Thursday, with 1,097 players (814 Indian players and 283 foreign players) registered to participate in the 2021 IPL player auction. The roster has 207 capped players, 863 uncapped players and 27 associated players.
In addition, S Sreesanth from India and Shakib Al Hasan from Bangladesh signed up for the auction.
However, Australian point guard Mitchell Starc and England’s Joe Root have opted out of the 2021 edition of the IPL because they did not register for the auction.
The youngest player to register is Noor Ahmad Lakanwal, the 16-year-old Afghan left-arm player, who has his prize at INR 20 lakh, while the oldest is Nayan Doshi, 42.
