In the 2021 IPL auction, 23-year-old Australian fast bowler Wes Agar may be a special target at least for some franchises due to his recent performances in the 2020/21 Big Bash League.
Wes Agar is the younger brother of Australian left-arm spinner Ashton Agar. Unlike his older brother, Wes dominates with his fast bowling. He is one of the fast growing bowlers in Australian cricket, who won the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year 2020.
In the 2020/21 Big Bash League, Adelaide Strikers fast bowler Wes Agar had 22 wickets in 15 games, including one at four wickets. He has already taken 41 wickets in 32 T20 matches.
In the IPL 2021 auction, it may be in high demand by some teams, who are looking for fast bowlers overseas.
IPL 2021 auctions: 3 teams that can target Wes Agar
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
The three finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are desperate to end their trophic drought soon. So, they are currently busy restructuring their team. Currently, ahead of the 2021 IPL auction, RCB needs three additional overseas cricketers.
On the other hand, they have three pacers (Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj and Kane Richardson) and two pace-bowling all-rounders (Daniel Sams and Harshal Patel). While they need to add more fast bowlers to the squad, young Australian fast bowler Wes Agar may be a good option for them.
