IPL 2022: 3 Potential players who can be named captain of the two new IPL franchises in IPL 2022.
IPL 2022: When the entertainment and fun started to take off, the covid-19 situation in the country and inside the bio-bubble brought an end to the top-grossing T20 league. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 has been indefinitely suspended due to multiple cases of covid inside the bubbles.
However, keeping in mind the current situation in the country, fans have lost all hope for Phase 2, as they say, of the 2021 IPL. Although various news has been there, citing that the remaining 31 matches of the IPL could be conducted outside of India, but fans are now looking forward to next year’s IPL.
As previously reported, BCCI will most likely add two new IPL franchises in IPL 2022 and the mega auction will take place.
Here are the 3 possible skippers of the two new franchises in IPL 2022.
3 Potential players who can be appointed captain of the two new IPL franchises:
Quinton de Kock:
Kock wicket-keeper Quinton has been one of the most important players in the MI lineup for a few years now. In fact, de Kock is the premier keeper and opener for the Mumbai Indians. This can be proven by the fact that fit Chris Lynn was benched by the franchise in order to field Kock’s Quinton in the 2021 IPL.
However, the 2022 IPL mega auction for the five-time champion could be a bit tricky and a tight case. Having prominent names like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, the Indians of Mumbai could let Quinton de Kock go.
For the two new franchises, Quinton could be a good choice for the harbor master’s office. Having led his national team in all three formats, de Kock can become a good IPL skipper. In addition, his impact with the captain will be complemented by his stick up front and can give good balance to the side.
The past few weeks have not been good for the Australian drummer. Warner led the Sunrisers Hyderabad to their only IPL title and is still in the middle of the races. However, a few unfortunate matches saw him lose his captain’s job to Kane Williamson.
If Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) leaves David Warner in the 2022 IPL mega auction, he could end up involving franchises in bidding wars.
For the newly added franchises, Warner could be a perfect option to lead the camp. He is a skilled drummer with a lot of IPL experience. He can be quite deadly if he gives him another chance with a new franchise in IPL 2022.
Another Australian cricketer could be a good captain option for the newly added franchises for IPL 2022.
Steve Smith, who played for the Delhi (DC) Capitals halfway through the 2021 IPL, has led the rankings for many years in T20 cricket. Smith was removed from the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captaincy last season, but was chosen by DC in the 2021 IPL.
Smith’s IPL records produce a false image of him despite having an extremely explosive record in other T20 leagues.
Given that he has led his Australian national team in limited cricket, Smith could be one of the best choices for captain roles.
